We are a TRIO formation from different origins and musical fields but lovers of Jazz Manouche music, following the tradition of Old Jazz from New Orleans, Blues and Swing, this style of jazz that originated in the United States towards the end of the 1910s, becoming one of the most popular and successful musical genres in the country during the 1920s and consolidated in the 30’s & 40’s.
And for 10 years in Camp de Tarragona with the TgnSwing association where this musical genre is in strong growth and ebullience. This is the main reason for following a common project, dancers and musicians from the area to follow the same common parallel line, for the promotion and projection of this genre.
This QUINTET or QUARTET formation, to reach any activity or event, uses musical instruments common in jazz, such as a rhythm section formed by piano, double bass and drums and the brass of the trumpet and of course, the voice.
The band’s Swing preferably uses medium and fast tempos, generalizing melodic riffs (as a tension resource, it is a short phrase that is repeated several times, with the final crescendo) and freeing the role of the drummer from certain restrictions that he had until then. And the role of soloist acquires importance, with clear recognizable melodies and energetic solos for people to dance. The drummer has a special relevance as the engine of the band. And the female voice creates the main melody, with texts and message clearly expressed by the composer.
